Shingle manufacturers (e.g., IKO, Malarkey, CertainTeed, BP) provide limited material warranties - often 30-50 years depending on the product line-covering defects in the shingles themselves under the manufacturer’s terms. A contractor’s workmanship warranty covers installation-related issues (for example, leaks from improper fastening or flashing). R&B Group Limited provides a 5-year workmanship warranty on our installations. Coverage details, duration, and any registration requirements for materials are set by the manufacturer.

The price depends on the roof area, the shingle collection you choose, and the condition of the decking. Our estimate always includes:

• Removal and disposal of the existing roofing.
• Installation of underlayment and ice & water shield.
• Installation of new ventilation components and required flashings/accessories.
• Full site cleanup upon completion.

Yes. We work with most insurers and can document storm damage, prepare photo reports, and assist with filing your claim so you can pursue the appropriate compensation. We also coordinate with the adjuster and provide detailed estimates to streamline the process.

For Calgary’s freeze–thaw cycles, chinook winds, and occasional hail, we recommend architectural (laminated) fiberglass shingles with these characteristics:

• Wind rating ≥ 110 mph and a reinforced nailing zone to withstand strong gusts.
• Cold-weather formulation (enhanced flexibility/low-temperature performance) to prevent cracking in deep freezes.
• Impact resistance (UL 2218 Class 3 or Class 4) for better hail durability.
• UV and algae resistance to reduce staining and premature aging.
• Proper attic ventilation and ice & water protection at eaves and valleys to mitigate ice dams and leaks.

Yes - with limitations. Work should be scheduled only when ambient temperatures are not below -10 °C. In cold conditions we follow cold-weather practices: handle shingles carefully to avoid cracking, hand-seal tabs with roofing adhesive where required, and warm materials so the self-seal strips bond properly. We provide our 5-year workmanship warranty on winter installations when on-site weather conditions meet the applicable standards.

We provide a complimentary checkup one year after installation. After that, we recommend seasonal inspections (spring and fall) and the following maintenance steps:

• Clean gutters and downspouts to prevent overflow and ice dams.
• Remove debris from the roof and valleys (leaves, branches).
• Inspect flashing and sealants around chimneys, vents, and skylights; reseal if needed.
• Check attic ventilation and insulation for proper airflow and moisture control.
• Look for shingle damage (granule loss, cracking, lifting) and nail pops; schedule repairs promptly.
• Trim overhanging branches and keep the roof clear of moss/algae growth.
• After severe weather, do a quick visual check from the ground and contact us if you notice issues.
